How to measure for curtains
Where to measure
A. Measure the usable width of the curtain pole or track. This is the distance between the two finials (decorative ends). Do not included the finial in the width measurement.
B. Measure the ring drop down to where you would like the curtains to hang to. The ring drop measurement applies to curtains with a handsewn or tape heading such as double/triple pleat, euro pleat, pencil pleat etc. See below for further details on taking the drop meaurement.
C. For eyelet headed curtains, measure the curtain drop required from the top of the curtain pole down to where you would like the curtains to finish.
Please note: When measuring for floor length curtains it is advisable to measure the drop in 3 places across the width of the pole/track. If there is variation in the readings, use the shortest measurement.
Curtain drop
Pleated curtains hung from curtain pole rings
Take ring drop measurement from the small ring down to where you would like the curtains to finish.
Eyelet, tab-top and slotted top curtains hung directly on the pole
Measure from the top of the pole to where you would like the curtains to finish.
Pleated and Wave curtains hung from track gliders
Our metal curtain tracks are designed so that the curtain hangs underneath the track. If the curtain is fitted so that it conceals the track when the curtains are closed the curtain heading will be pushed forward, plus the curtains will not stack back effectively.
Choose your curtain length
A. Full length curtains
B. Below the sill
C. Sill length curtains
